Nancy O'Dell's first position in the broadcasting industry was as a reporter/anchor at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. O'Dell's articles in Charleston on how Charleston police acted in DUI cases with care, resulted in an investigation by the State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger direction for state officials. Ms. O'Dell was recognized by The Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. In the years following her stint in Charleston O'Dell served as anchor, co-anchor, and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to her move to Access Hollywood as a weekend co-anchor and weekday correspondent. O'Dell's current role as host of Access Hollywood is complemented by her work on NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. She's covered events such like The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as in addition to hosting a series of Pre-ShowArrivals shows for The Emmys and the Golden Globes.
